Load-bearing light gauge steel framed (LSF) wall is one of the main structural elements in cold-formed (CFS) buildings. When cavity insulation used to enhance energy performance LSF walls, their adequacy based fire resistance levels (FRL) decrease considerably. Hence, new materials and/or different configurations are considered. This research study investigated use silica aerogel fibreglass blanket as external FRL walls.
